Panicking I have done my whole literature review wrong…advice please!!!

I’m currently in my final year studying Biomedical science and our final project is a standalone 4000 word literature review. I have pretty much finished the write up and was quite happy with the final product as I’ve put in SO much work and research, however after reading a few of my friends reviews I now worry I’ve completely grasped the wrong end of the stick!

The way I’ve tackled it is rather than overviewing lots and lots of papers in each section, I’ve identified less papers and gone into incredible detail about their findings, documenting everything with figures from the primary research along the way. I fear that rather than this reading like a literature review it now reads like a lab report and I’m just documenting the findings. Admittedly along the way I have given my own opinions on things and ways to improve the field but I fear this approach is just not what they’ll be looking for and it’s due in a few days!!

Any help or advice is massively appreciated!!
