Silent accomodation in Edinburgh?

Hi, I'm hoping to join Edinburgh for medicine in September!

Since I am pretty sensitive to sound, I really want to choose an accommodation which has minimal noise while not being too far away from campus.

Currently, I am considering:
1. Mylnes court
2. New Arthur place
3. Darroch court
4. South Clerk street
5. East newtington’s place
6. Hermit’s croft

Any ideas?

don’t know personally but mylnes court is right on the mile (tourist central) so i imagine it could be loud

Darroch court is quite a loud accommodation as it is in a busy corner in Cowgate, next door to it is like a homeless shelter or temporary housing and some interesting things happen: such as people standing on the roof and the police are often there.

Mylnes court: hope you like bagpipes. We’ve just walked past and they’re giving it some.

Hey, I’m an autistic student at Edinburgh so I totally get the noise thing, I’m also sensitive to noise (if you’ve not already consider investing in some sleeping earplugs, they’ve been so good for me this year) ! I’ve stayed in Warrender Park Crescent this year and it’s been great, of course in any student accom you will get some noise but Warrender is south of the meadows so we are out of the way of the Cowgate and the centre. Another plus is that the smaller flat sizes mean that apart from freshers week when everyone is meeting each other, people will generally head out to other places for parties, at least in my experience anyway.

I've applied and have an offer to study medicine there. What's it like? What's the University like? How's the course?
