do things get better at uni?

this is more of a vent than anything else, but I've almost finished year 12 and I haven't really been enjoying sixth form. I deliberately went to a college with none of my friends so I could have a fresh start but I'm not great at actually making friends so I sort of missed the opportunity. I also wish I had taken something like art instead of philosophy which I find really uninteresting. I'm just wondering if people have been in my place, where college isn't necessarily awful, just not how you thought it would be - is uni better? and is it alright to have the mindset of just powering through sixth form and getting my a levels?

I wasn't the biggest fan of college. I went to the same one as a lot of my friends but I still barely saw them because everyone just came in for lessons and we were always in/out at different times so it was a bit dull, COVID also didn't help but yeah most people were too focused on their A levels to socialise a lot anyway.

At uni you're with your flatmates everyday, so thats already an improvement because you always have people around to talk to, you can join societies etc. which also helps with making friends. I'm really introverted so I haven't made any friends on my course or outside of my flat, but I've become really close to my flat and we are all great friends now, so yeah I'd say uni is definitely better, and a lot easier to meet people!!
