- making of america

hi! did this last year for my GCSE's (except nazi rule, as that got taken off). your best bet i'd say is looking over past paper questions and seeing what comes up the most! another thing that def helps is honing in on areas you find particularly difficult, eg. spanish flu or whatever it may be!

thank you!! god i feel like the only person in the world who does this spec. i think the first exam was the hardest since there are very few resources for kenilworth castle (the site study i did) and my confidence has been thrown. thanks again

I do OCR B and its actually so annoying because nobody else does it . All the AQA people make TT with advice and there is never any for OCR. I watch Pete Jackson on Youtube hes really good the videos r long but they go quick and i sometimes note down things i dont know.

I also memorise in the morning before all the structure because even if the questions on a topic your not great at if you structure your answer right it will just sound better and hopefully get good marks.

I do Life under Nazi rule and The making of America tomorrow and I did Public Health and Life in The Elizabethan Era last week. Did you do the local historical site study?

I'm doing moa this afternoon and there's literally nothing on it except a few yt vids and a huge textbook that's too information based and it's so frustrating

my main revision method is making flashcards out of details in the textbook but it's so content heavy and dull. Good luck this afternoon! I literally just finished learning the content lol

omg i totally forgot this thread existed ngl!!! i did my gcses last year and yes i did do a historical site - i did kenilworth castle near warwick and actually got a decent mark on that section (40/50 marks or something like that, higher than i'd ever got before). i ended up getting a 7, 2 marks off an 8, but i couldn't be bothered to go through the whole process of getting it remarked, honestly i was just glad it was more than a 6 😭 hope exams are going well for you!!

no i was literally the same this time last year. i literally went into my final paper (nazi rule + america) without ever having done a single past paper question on it bc we finished learning it the day before we went on study leave 💓 but it went ok. good luck with your exams!!!

I do exactly the same - idk anybody with the same choices as us - there's no revision resources anywhere - people are either doing the Elizabethans or crime and and punishment - how was the paper for you today? I didn't finish the 12 marker - wrote a scrappy paragraph for it - finished everything else - I did questions 5 (the one about health since 1900) and 8 (the question about Harold godwinson being the strongest claimant to the throne) - cooked for making of America and nazi rule
