Doing extra computing qualifications

Hi, going to my 1st Yr computer science and I was thinking of doing extra courses/linkedin courses in various areas of computing. To get certificates under my belt be more qualified when I look for jobs.

Was thinking of doing it in 1st year when there's less work rather than doing it in year 3.
So hopefully I'd be leaving uni in 2027, (including 1 year placement).

But now the courses I'd do have dates of 2023/2024. So is it worth it?
Would it be seen by employers that it was done 3-4 years ago so it's not worth a lot or thought as I probably would have 'forgotte' the info?

Thanks!

Thanks

I guess it depends what the qualifications are that you are looking at. For many qualifications, currency can be important, as is the practical application of the knowledge. Some qualifications may have a validity too. What are you thinking of doing?
