Does the University matter for Computer science?

On results day I got higher than expected and had the opportunity to go the University of York through clearing. I decided to stick with my firm choice of Reading, mostly due to the fact that I live here and will be saving around 10k a year in living expenses.

My thought process was that there really isnt a huge difference in employability between reading and york, as there would be comparing it to a top 10 university, but looking at the league tables and seeing a 20 spot difference is starting to change my mind. Did I make an idiotic decision?

No, I don't think it makes a difference. I think its far more important that you enjoy the course, it covers modules you want to do, you do well at it and can build up a decent CV from industrial exepriences.

You’ve asked this same question here before and in other forums, so I’ll repeat what I said. No, it doesn’t matter, what matters is that you’re happy and will enjoy your time there. Employers do not pay attention to the league tables.
