Edexcel old spec papers (maths)

Hi! Im a year 12 student and I'm thinking about doing old spec a level papers for revision (when c1 content has finished), I was looking at the c1 paper and it said that 'no calculators are allowed' , however in the new GCE calculators are allowed in all papers. When doing C1 papers should I use a calculator or not?

Don't use a calculator. I assume the questions are testing knowledge you could use a calculator for but wouldn't be able to if replaced with algebra. Which board?
