Personal Statement Top Tips

Hi guys!

UCAS season is still upon us and perhaps some of you have sent off your application and received your offers, whilst some of you may be panicking or procrastinating.

I thought we could comment any top tips that you may have surrounding personal statements to help people who may be struggling with the application process!

One of my tips would definitely be not to focus too much on one topic, i.e., focusing too much on the subject you want to study and neglecting your skills/hobbies, etc. We don't want to eat up our character count on one thing!

Don't feel you need to start at the beginning!
Often the opening is the hardest bit to write, I started in the middle and found it a lot easier as it took some of the pressure off

Proof read your personal statement over and over again! Make sure there are no big spelling errors or grammar issues that could make a bad impression. Get others to read over it so that you know you've made the most of the space you've got :five:
