Supporting you through your young person’s application journey!

Hey everyone!

We know that there’s a lot more to applying to university than just filling out applications. At Nottingham Trent University, we’re here to provide support for not only prospective students, but also their parents and carers too.

We wanted to share some of our top tips to think about to help you support your student when they’re making their university choices:

1.

If you haven’t been to any open days yet, the next couple of months are the best time for you and your young person to visit universities that they’re interested in if they’re starting in the 2024/25 academic year. Visiting in person is the best way for them to get a taste of their chosen course and what their student experience will be like.

2. When they’re making their applications, make sure that they’re taking their time and exploring all the different options available. We’ve got a handy guide full of advice on writing a great personal statement on our website.

3.Make sure they’re aware of key dates and deadlines and get to grips with the UCAS application process. Discover our step-by-step guide to applying to university.
