does it matter if i dont pick a placement option for course and do it later?

For something like liverpool, i want to do computer science and when you click on the normal course, it comes up with things that you can do in this subject like a work placement or global opportunities. So then i presume that when you start doing the course, you have to talk to the careers advisor to go ahead and start the paper work right?

However there is another option called computer science and a year in industry. How come there is a choice about work experience for computer science but not one for studying a year abroad? I've checked the partnerships and see what subjects can go abroad and computer science is an option.
So how come it doesnt come up as an option? I'm putting my choices down on my ucas and im unsure if i want to do a work placement or a year abroad, so should i just put computer science down and talk to the advisor later(if i get in hopefully).

Email them and ask. It's the quickest way to a direct, non-speculative answer.
