Terrorist NHS worker planned to bomb hospital

An NHS worker is on trial for attempting to explode a device at a hospital, and also had an axe and knife in his car to go on a killing spree. Anyone hear about this? Thought not.

Amazing how the media carries water for the NHS and protects certain classes of offender. Almost no news coverage has been broadcast of this. Similarly, the amount of coverage that Lucy Letby received for murdering 8 children was tiny compared to any similar case, bearing in mind that she killed more people than Jack the Ripper, and places behind Harold Shipman (another NHS killer and one of the most prolific murderers in human history), Peter Sutcliffe, Dennis Nilsen and Fred West.

Lucy letby received insane amounts of coverage, she was all over every newspaper and magazine… if you didn’t see that I think that shows more about your awareness than anything else.
Also Jack the Ripper is a bit of a shite comparison considering that was 150 yrs ago- he’s only remarkable because no one ever knew who he was.

Harold shipman murdered atleast 200 people of course he’s going to get insane amounts of coverage regardless. And no letby did not get a tiny amount of coverage compared to similar cases, the most similar case was Beverley Allitt and she got as much if not more because of the differences in tech and media between the cases.

Almost none has been broadcast? Again I think this is just you.

Another day, another thread where someone screams 'media silence!' over a story that has had media coverage across almost all platforms. Sprinkle on some anti-NHS, anti-BBC rhetoric and we're good to go.

Speaking of, what does this have to do with the NHS? The guy worked for them, sude, but so do 1.4 million people. Do you think the NHS is responsible for his actions, or something?

Also, Lucy Letby received a huge amount of attention from the media even before her verdict was decided. Have you been living under a rock?

This case was covered in the media back in January. That you are weren’t aware is down to you.

You won’t have heard anything between then and the case going to court because reporting restrictions once a person has been charged prevent coverage. Your apparent ignorance of British law is entirely down to you.

Lucy Letby was headline news for days and will be again when subsequent inquires into the Trust take place.

Your criticism of the media in this case seems is a fiction constructed in your own mind.

Suggesting that Letby got an insignificant amount of coverage for her crimes is laughable.

And here we go with people pretending that Letby was anything other than an obscene cover. The only institution that gets more media top cover than the NHS is the BBC. Let’s be absolutely clear - she murdered 8 babies and got a few news articles and a few lame requests for hospitals to be more careful.

Similarly, look at the excuses being made for this terrorist - just on this thread. “What has this got to do with the NHS?” Just remember that next time there is an offence committed by someone from a group you don’t like.

Don’t lose sight of the bottom line here - NHS terrorist.

"A few news articles" - Are you so badly versed in the news that you missed the months of coverage her story got? Or are you just pretending like it was never talked about because you can't bring yourself to admit that your worldview is wrong?

We could literally sit here and show you the many dozens of articles about her. That's clearly not going to change your opinion though, is it?

The NHS isn't responsible for the actions of all 1.4 million of its employees. Is that really what you think? That any organisation with millions of members should be held responsible for the actions of one or two extremists? I'm sure you wouldn't like it if your own groups were held responsible in that way, so why target others like that?

This is broadly sage advice, but the difference is that sometimes a person's acts marry to or are a result of a shared ideology within their peer/social/political group.

Is this the case here?
What was his political cause otherwise it's not terrorism.

People have already mentioned the extensive coverage Lucy letby got so I won’t go into that.

Why do you think the guy with a bomb is a terrorist. With your article it literally says that he isn’t. He had no political or religious aims therefore not a terrorist

Make ya mind up pal.

Someone didn't bomb hospital vs someone killed eight babies

Jeez yeah, why was there less coverage of one rather other?
That's one ugly man, inside and out.
