A level choices and university preference

Hi! I am currently taking my GCSEs and have had to chose A levels much sooner than anticipated due to one of my college applications having a very short open window. My chosen subjects were English literature , English language and sociology as was just too uncertain in the end as to how much coursework and experience I would need to take on graphic design!
I have always been interested in subjects such as English as they allow me to express opinion in a debate-like tone whilst improving communication; which I feel like would like help me to move into a media based future. The issue is that I have found it hard deciding which English option to take as I prefer literature however know that language relates to my other option which would be sociology. Still unsure about university however I have heard that they prefer you to specialise in one of the two English courses? To add to that I love creative outlets and have been interested in graphic design but am aware that it may be a lot of coursework? Help if you have done any of these levels or know how Unis view applications with English!

Have a look on Uni course pages for Graphic Design for the A levels subjects that are essential.
Remember that many will want an Art/Design/Media subject - and a portfolio of your work.

I currently do both English lit and an art subject at alevel (photography) and I can tell you both are super interesting and actually go together more than you might think. At the end of the day pick alevels you think you'll enjoy because then you will ultimately do better in them. Most uni courses don't have any specific subjects so just do what you will enjoy and are most interested in. You could even think about media studies which is a good combination of English analysis with more creative aspects
