ops on the classics course at cambridge?
has it done nothing but harm, (mis)educating the likes of kwasi kwarteng, and instilling a sense of baseless arrogance in its successful alumni? it is extremely over represented in terms of prizes and scholarships due to the huge 19th century endowments from when it was an important subject. standards seem to be slipping year on year and their are so many adjustments for students based on mental health or adhd or having done gcse greek or no that everyone is essentially taking a different exam at the end of each year. just a total shambles tbh. and then there's the whole issue of having an intake with vastly different levels of knowledge as some have studies latin and greek since age 9, while others are picking it up at university
