Can someone explain why do we need to know the exact trig values for a level math & further math if we are allowed to use a calculator during the test?

I mean if it's a calculator paper then you can use your calculator but you're generally expected to know the basic trig ratios. Sin, Cos, Tan of 30,45,60 which shouldn't be too hard to learn.

As a retired Maths teacher, I would say that the only people who NEED to know them are anyone who will do a non-calculator paper such as STEP, MAT etc. It is useful for those people to learn them straight away when they first come across them so that they are second nature by the time they do a non-calculator paper.
If you do a university course that involves Maths, then it is likely that you will do exam papers where you don't have a calculator.
