Applying to Barclays’ Operations Analyst Grad Scheme without a finance background

I am a final year Politics student at Durham and I have not previously had any experience in finance and I’m thinking of apply to this grad scheme. I think I have a good set of transferable skills from prior work experiences to work in financial operations. But I’m feeling a bit wary about applying to it as I haven’t got any experiences that are strictly on finance (my past experiences are in law, marketing and PR). Would that be an issue? Does it hurt my chances? I just feel like I don’t really know how to approach an application like that with everyone saying how competitive is it to get into finance.

Little pecker

not having a Finance background will make no difference, but seriously consider if operations is what you want to do because that function is the least paid and highest risk of job loss.
