Hello, can you please help me by telling me what questions you got on the Delivering Outcomes video interviews? If you remember it at all.

Hi, which location is this for? I got my "Thank you for your successful delivering outcomes etc etc" almost exactly a month before my launch pad. However, for some locations they are well underway with Launch Pads and are most likely almost full picking successful candidates from those.

Hi, I applied for a grad job but in the same day they also did internships and apprenticeships. They had audit and taxation on the same day. I applied to Leeds but they also had people there for the Manchester location. It was roughly 300 people in total.

Two days after the superday I was given my offer via phone call to start in September.

Looks to me like some locations are wanting to get their intake sorted asap (I’ve heard from friends that their superdays have already happened too).

I’m sorry I can’t be much more use!

Hi, congratulations on your offer BTW. Wanted to ask so these launch pad days are in person? If you could share how the day is structured or any insight to the day, that would be very helpful and appreciated. And one more thing, when abouts did you get the email that you completed the “Thank you foryour successful delivering outcomes etc etc”?, you said it was a month before the launchpad day. Thank you in advance.

I got my thank you for your successful delivering outcomes email a few days after doing it if I remember correctly.
The day was structured with 2 main assessed components which was the group work and the interview. The group work has you paired with 2-3 other people and you need to read some information under a short time limit, then share the information with your group and make a decision on which option is best. In the last few minutes you are shown new information and can decide to change your mind. You then need to pitch why you decided to make that choice to the assessors, who are both watching the entire time. This is done in a room with another 50+ people all doing it at the same time. The interview is 1:1 and also done concurrently with around 50 other candidates in the room. A component of this is where you are shown some sources and quotes around a concept and asked to explain which you agree with and which you don't, and why. You need to mention the source and if they may be biased. There are also some questions which were more technical than I would have imagined, but I was hot off an Audit module so it was fairly easy. There are some opportunities to discover more about the firm and talk to current graduate employees and internship employees, but this is of course not assessed.

Hey, thank you for this insight, would it be possible if you could share some more details about the interview if possible? How long was it, did they ask the generic why the role, why kpmg. Are there any specific questions you remember? What were the technical questions like? Could you also explain a bit more about the sources and quotes exercise please? Thank you so much

There's not much else to say about the sources question, it's very self explanatory. I'm sure they use different sources every year but it's a task about being able to quickly find patterns, disregard information that may be biased, and use your own critical thinking. It's not something you can practice. There were a few generic questions like "why KPMG" but they were not looking for the general cliche answers, they wanted detail. I mentioned how the Leeds branch worked in some sectors like charitys that other Big 4 close by did not work in, and also I spoke about my understanding of KPMG and what I have been told by other financial sector workers that I networked with previously. The technical questions were along the lines of: What is deferred revenue and why is it classified as a liability? What do you imagine are the stages of an audit? Tell me about audit risk. What would you do if you identified a significant misstatement in the accounts? What technology is changing ways audits are done today? (for this you can talk about KPMG's own AI platform, the use of machine learning, remote work and encrypted audit folders). What do you understand about professional skepticism? Discuss some major audit failures and why they happened. Explain the concept of materiality. What is Goodwill? When I answered most of my answers already covered future questions he was going to ask so he just told me I'd already answered the rest. The interview took an hour in total. He also asked if there was anything I'd like to ask him. I asked stuff like how does KPMG ensure its audit practices are evolving to meet the expectations of regulators and clients, especially with so many wide scale audit failures. How does KPMG support work-life balance during busy seasons? What kind of training and support does KPMG offer to help graduates prepare for the ACA qualification? It was all very straightforward stuff but is a good opportunity for them to weed out those that don't know what they're getting themselves into with Audit.

I can't remember the questions off the top of my head, but i think there were around 4 video questions. They were fairly straight forward, i think 2 were a bit technical i'd say but nothing too complex, and the other 2 were more simple. In terms of tips, use all the available prep time which is 2 minutes. Make brief bullet points or notes on a sticky note and either put it just above your camera or just below your camera on your laptop screen. That way if you need to refer to your notes your eyes aren't deviating too much away from the camera. Take your time, breathe and have some water before each answer. Don't rush your answers but also don't take too much time as there is a 2 minute response time limit. Maintain eye contact with the camera. Don't worry if you stutter (I stuttered once or twice in mine). In terms of preparing you can't really prepare before the assessment as the questions are based around the situation and information presented in the assessment. Overall it wasn't the worst video interview i've done so you should be fine, let me know if you have anymore questions.

hi so I’m currently being on hold for launch pad, may I ask how long until you get your invite from the successful DO email?

When did you apply and when is this for? If it’s for 2025 September, they’ve already filled all of the positions up back in December. You’ll be left with that “pending” perpetually (the same happened to me when I applied for internships the previous year).

Usually you need to apply as soon as they open, I know for audit and the tax roles all the contracts have already been signed for graduates by January. I was on hold for a couple of weeks I believe, then got a call inviting me for the Launch Pad happening the next week.
