First ever mocks in life!!!

I am currently in Year 9 and my school offers the opportunity to do Early Entry GCSE in one EBACC subject. As I cannot choose core subjects, I opted for History. However, I am worried about my upcoming mock exams in January 22, as it will be my first time sitting in a hall and writing a GCSE exam.
While I usually receive 8s for my essays, my teachers have warned that the actual exam will be more challenging, and everyone may achieve a lesser grade like a 7 if you get 8's .I don't want this to happen, so I need advice on how to prepare.
. Thankfully, my teacher provides us with all the PowerPoint presentations, some notes, and videos of them teaching all topics, just in case we need them.

The point of a mock is to show you what the exam is like. Revise, but don’t worry too much about it - it’s only a baseline. The difference between a 7 and an 8 is very minimal, ultimately, so just take the process in and you’ll be fine. Good luck!
