A-Level Physics Specialisation

I'm currently in Year 11 hoping to do Physics at A-Level, I know you can specialise in certain topics for Paper 3 (Astrophysics, medical, engineering, turning points & electronics). I'm hoping to do a BSc Software Engineering degree at uni (don't know which one yet) to go on to either a software engineering or games development career, so I'm guessing engineering would help with that, but I have a passion for astrophysics and it's my favourite topic in physics.

Does what I choose to specialise in affect my chances of getting into the course, or does it not matter?

In a word: no. It may help when you start your degree and focus on these things in more detail - your prior knowledge will be useful there. However, it's not usually something an admissions officer would be looking at.
