offered H&SC instead of dental hygiene/oral health sciences from essex?

i initially applied for oral health sciences (FdSc) at essex and got offered a place for health and social care instead (CertHE). they said I can do dental hygiene after i complete the year of H&SC but how does a certificate of higher education work? what even is it lol,can I also apply to other universities with it to study dental hygiene as well as essex?

Hiya @blktoothfairy !
Congratulations on your offer 🤩
A certificate of higher education (CertHE) is equivalent to the first year of a bachelor's degree.
Once you achieve a CertHE you can apply to progress to a university degree bought at Essex and other institutions.

I hope this information helps.
