BTEC Applied Science extended diploma as an adult (19)

Hiya, I just want to ask whether anyone knows if its possible to take the BTEC extended diploma as an adult? I'm 19 and have been looking at an access course, but the applied science BTEC is accepted by more universities for the course I'm interested in. I'm not sure if its like ALevel where its really only for 16-18yr olds :'c
