What is a PhD like?
Hello. I’m currently undertaking a two year Masters in scriptwriting and I’m quite borderline on the prospect of doing a PhD after it, should I reach the required grade for admittance. What would a PhD entail? Is it demanding in terms of time and effort? Would I be spending a lot of time in libraries?
Are you thinking about doing a practice-based PhD in scriptwriting or a traditional academic-style one?
Sitting in a library is not really necessary these days as materials are usually available through electronic databases. Unless you are needing to access physical archives.
But whichever you do, it's a massive commitment.
