A-level Maths Trigonometry help

show that 2Cos²x+Cosx-6=0 has no solutions.

I'm not sure how to do this. I've done the discriminant, but it is positive so would have 2 real roots

What are the values of the roots, so cos(x)=...? So x=...

oh, so i have to solve for Cosx, then it shouldn't be possible to get a value for x from that cause it will be larger than 1 or smaller than -1?
