I don't think it is likely an issue. I did Edexcel A at GCSE but I am doing AQA at A-level, most of the content was a good foundation for A-level but I do realise it is the other way round for you.

Probably not, the sixth form you end up going to may set you bridging work to do which will help with gap between GCSE and A-level. If not, I would start looking at the course content for the A-level course.
