mate, lets be honest, all muslims, even extremists will listen to and possibly play..music, even the prophet (pbuh) listened to music and music has been an intergral part of muslim culture for centuries....but if you still believe that it is haram....then the reading of the Qu'ran can be considered music as the Imam will "sing" the verses and hadiths......do you still think that music is haram as by doing so, you also automatically asume that the reading of the Qu'ran in its lyrical poetic form (the intended way) is also haram.....

I haven't seen the vid...but this is what i have been taught:

Music is similar to TV, both of which can be compared to a blade. There is nothing wrong with using a blade in a good way (eg cutting fruit and veg), but it is haram to use it in a bad way (eg to hurt/murder someone). TV and music are fine if it does not go against what Islam says (eg watching the news, listening to nasheeds or music without inappropriate content). But it does become haram when you use it unlawfully (eg movies/songs with sexual references)

So you don't listen to music at all?

I mean I'm muslim aswell but I just find it impossible not to listen to music. .....although I havent listened to any music during ramadan.
