OCR Biology F211 Exam - Tues 11'th January 2011

For the bronchus/bronchi/bronchiole debate, i thought about it for a while, then decided that the alveoli connect to the bronchiole, and the bronchi lead off from them, so i put bronchi.
It wasn't bronchus because there were two branches of it.

Mate, the answer is bronchiole

The Trachea splits into 2 bronchi (bronchus singular), the bronchus further splits into bronchioles..

Likewise, Artery --> Arterioles

But didn't the alveoli at the end indicate it was a bronchiole? I thought bronchi split off into the bronchioles, which have alveoli at the end?

i reckon i got 40/60 fml
i made stupid mistakes! i hated the transpiration question as it wasnt clear wtf they wanted
i hated the difference in mitosis between animal and plants theres like worth 3 lines about it on the book :angry:

for the magnification thing i got 93mm not 90 i think my ruler is retarded
i hated the xylem question
fill in the gaps was a gift question
what did u ppl put for improving reliability & accuracy
also i hated the how water moves in cell membrane didnt know whether it wanted symplast crap or channel proteins crap! erghh
some questions were worded in such a retarded way! i revised soo much it better have paid off!
lets hope for very low grade boundaries!!

Reliabilty... could have dabbed excess sucrose solution
Accuracy... Measure it twice and get an average

Could someone post if they got same or similar answers?

Increased reliability just talk about repeating the experiment and taking an average.
Accuracy is measure to more decimal places/ use more accurate measurements.

And water is polar so it must go through channel proteins / aqua porins.... etc

Reliability - repeat each experiment several times and calculate an average (this will also help to identify any anomalies)
Accuracy - something about decimal places. i know i got this one wrong.

No reliability is doing it twice and getting an average making sure results are valid hence identifying anomalies.

For accuracy, measure to 2 dp/ 3sf something like that
