Your score: 47
0 - 32 = low (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score about 20)
33 - 52 = average (most women score about 47 and most men score about 42)
53 - 63 is above average
64 - 80 is very high
80 is maximum

40.
Thought it might be higher but my answers were fairly inconsistent to similar questions, just depended on what the situation or example was. Rather silly test actually.

:woo: YES. That would be amazing  I imagine some of us will be capable of socialising (I'm actually a weirdly outgoing person in social situations) but, it being mostly mathmos, I'm hoping for some right weirdos

What do they do with their lives? Is it not horribly overwhelming, being aware of what the people around you are feeling all the time? Does it not get in the way of productivity? How does one manage to think clearly if one's always thinking about how other people must be feeling? They confuse me, I'm afraid :awesome:

Ok, I'm now convinced I am on the autism spectrum at least a little bit. I did the Systemizing Quotient thingmy and got 47.

0 - 19 = low
20 - 39 = average (most women score about 24 and most men score about 30)
40 - 50 = above average (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score in this range)
51 - 80 is very high (three times as many people with Asperger Syndrome score in this range, compared to typical men, and almost no women score in this range)
80 is maximum

Yeah, I'm pretty outgoing when I want to be, it's just I don't neeeed to have other people for company. And yes, there's just bound to be some right weirdos! I mean, it is Maths Camp after all...

Exactly. My own feelings are plenty thanks, why can't everyone just keep their own feelings to themselves!

10. Somehow I kinda expected that. With the autism/Aspergers, there's one theory that one of the factors is the person having an extreme male brain. Judging by this sort of test, they might have a point.

For the posters above - I'm doing Law and Politics.

Btw - yes I have Aspergers

P.S Systemising Quotient 41, Autistic Spectrum Quotient - 40
(edited 13 years ago)
20, although I don't think that the test is very good. I would place myself in the low thirties. I'm pretty sure that I'm not autistic, and I don't struggle to know what people are feeling or pick up on hidden meanings, I just don't care much for other people. Their problems and feelings in general do not interest me greatly, unless said problems are very significant (thinking extreme poverty, famine etc., not boyfriend issues or even deaths of close family members).

Ooooh. Link me to that? (Also, you can't know if you have autism just from a test like this - I realise you're probably joking, but it's a whole host of symptoms and isn't just characterised by social awkwardness )

I hope so  I mean, it just wouldn't be a gathering of maths children without at least a couple of people with weird dress sense and peculiar mannerisms. There better be some, or I'll feel most shortchanged  (I met Marcus du Sautoy once and he had orange trousers :awesome:)

Exactly. My own feelings are plenty thanks, why can't everyone just keep their own feelings to themselves!

Integers have the decency not to get all emotional on you - why can't people do the same?
