Does anyone know about accommodation? I have an offer and like LSE but the way the accommodation is so spread out it gives me the feeling that it's not very communal. I don't want to go and feel like I'm not getting the chance to socialise with people

My son feels the same way. He thinks he won't make any friends and is waiting for Durham offer. He knows LSE is part of "The Golden Triangle" and is extremely prestigious but he worries he won't like it. He's going to the offer holders day so hopefully he will change his mind.

It's not a collegiate university and so this may be why people are worried about the social life. But the entire halls of residence has a strong community feel and there are so many options to meet people in societies or sports teams that I think this concern is probably more a general university one rather than being specific to the lse. You will make friends!

It's ok to feel upset or disappointed but don't blame it on the admissions system. There is no set quota for backgrounds... just accept the courses were very competitive and move on. There's plenty of other universities out there.

Oh, I'm not. I just said that to some extent, it may have been a factor in their decision-making. Far be it from them to chose based on ethnic, cultural or socioeconomic background.

Not unusual with LSE. Early rejections go out to those who obviously did not satisfy their stated requirements, e.g. wrong subject combinations, unconvincing PS, or grades. Early approvals go to the opposite. In previous years, those who get offers in February are already considered early. By now, they probably will wait to assess everyone with all the remaining applications that will come it by the Jan 15 deadline. Just a guess. But, with LSE, nothing unusual with the long wait.

Uk student. We're from Northern Ireland. School are persuading him to go to LSE as it is a fantastic uni. He's just afraid it might be hard to make friends.

I applied in October and got an email a few days later, saying that they'd make an offer in about 12 weeks.
The next day I got another email saying that they're reviewing my UCAS application/reference etc, and that it should take about 2 weeks then they'd contact me again. Last week I got the 'four week' email.
Is anyone in a similar situation? And is it a good sign in any sense?

I didn't apply to the same course as you, but I also sent my application on the 14th of October and haven't heard back yet! My 8 weeks ended last Friday but I didn't receive a 4 week email, did you get one? Good luck :smile:
