Voldemort would definitely end up killing Harry (or vice versa) if that scenario would play out. After all, his demise was prophesied to come at the hand of HP so the constant reminder of him around would leave him 'shook'.

Yeah but there'd be so many options. He could use Harry to achieve an even bigger end goal, he could realise the error of his ways and turn back to the good side to fight Potter, or Harry could eventually turn back.

Yeah but imagine it. Neville is on his knees, Harry has him and has been performing the crucio curse on him. You see this brightness come through Tom's eyes... Harry goes for the kill and Voldermort disarms him. Wizarding War part II ensues and both die.
Thoughts on a alternate Harry Potter ending where Harry goes to the Forbidden Forest to die, but is swayed by Voldermort into joining the dark side. He goes back to the castle, Hermione and Ron embrace him as they think he conquered Riddle but then bam, Avada Kedavra outta nowhere? Possibilities would be endless, you could have Harry return to the good side eventually, or even Voldermort returning when he sees the destruction Potter had caused. Either one could also kill the other to further their ambition (would work better if Harry betrayed Voldermort tbh), Neville could also step into the chosen one role.
Nothing suggested that Harry was drifting towards the dark side; at least build it like they did with Anakin. Anyway Neville's a ****ing bum.

There was a ready-made reason though; the connection between the two. Voldermort just had to bypass Harry's defence to bring him to the dark side. Could've gone for the shock value too, don't indicate it up to him ****ing over Ron and Hermione. Imagine the pop when he turned face again, well him or Tom. Neville was a strong fraud tbh, rather have Dean Thomas as the sideman ffs.
