Except he hasn't been elected on a platform of making California wealthier at the expense of the rest of the nation.

What you want is what the people who elected him in Ohio are unhappy about.

True, but don't you think that highlights the difference between the US and the EU?

The former is a vibrant Federal nation state, albeit in decline. The latter a wannabe Federal state,(arguably) in its death throes.

The idea of California seceding from the Union is laughable. Britain is about to do so. (I understand you are in denial about this, but it is going to happen).

If a State tries to leave they send in the Federal army at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives. When Britain does the EU leaders mouth risible threats of a trade war even though everyone knows they are running a trade deficit with us of £24 billion a quarter year.

The EU has to become a Federal state if it is to survive all its existential threats. The problem is that the people of Europe (not just the UK) will never accept that.

The voters of the golden state are Americans first and Californians second. The people of France (say) are French first, and Europeans second.

The French elections next year are going to be a terrible shock for those still clinging to the European dream.

It will be all about the EU which stands for globalisation, capitalism, the out of touch elite, mass immigration, and (in the eyes of many people) appeasement to Islamisation.

Facing the EU parties will be the one party which viscerally opposes all of the above. Which dares to state the politically incorrect. Whose supporters are called fruitcakes, racists, deplorables, fascists, Islamophobes, ya de ya. Rather than having their arguments engaged with.

Come on, do I really need to point all this out?? Isn't it obvious?

I take it you mean the party that won only 24 out of 74 seats in the European elections only two years ago.

There is no doubt that right wing populism can succeed in France but the National Front and the le Pen family is on the wrong side of the basic divide on the French right: Petain or de Gaulle. It is that whiff of treason about them which means they can't win.

They will win because of left wing voters changing sides.

No point arguing further obviously. We can reconvene after the election if we are both still around on here..

I find the protectionsim and aspects of economic leftism that far right leaders often have to be fascinating.

It was actually Mussolini that introduced social security in Italy.

Let's see:

Wall built,
Taxes decreased,
Obamacare repealed,
Illegals deported,
Roe v Wade and same-sex marriage overturned,
Planned Parenthood shut down,
Common Core scrapped,
"Climate change" regulations reversed,
Political correctness resigned to the dustbin,
Stolen jobs brought back,
ISIS defeated,
Conservatives added to the supreme court.

All in all, I think it's looking pretty good if I may say so myself.

What is your economic ideology?

Absolutely.

And what was the source of the term Nazi?

Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (abbreviated NSDAP).

The National Socialist German Workers' Party

The fact that we are seriously debating the prospect of an avowedly fascist party taking the Presidency of a major Western European country is extraordinary.

It is an indictment of all kinds of groups and people. But above all, I think, the leaders of the Eurocracy will stand in the dock of history.

It shows a failure of monumental proportions to oversee an organisation that is SO despised and hated that the voters of a member state could prefer fascism to continuing within it.

Maybe I will be proved wrong. I often am. But no-one can deny, surely, that my analysis is plausible, at the very least.

And that in itself is profoundly shocking.
