MPhil Medical Science (Paed, Psychi, Primary Care etc.) Cambridge

Hey guys! I'm quite new to this forum so I'm not too sure if its the right thing to start a new discussion or I should be joining something old (please redirect me if thats the case).

So I'm looking for anyone who has completed/currently in/applying/knows friends who have applied to the MPhil in Medical Science degree(s) at Cambridge and I have a few question for those with some experience about it.

1) Which MPhil in medical science did you do? I am aware there is one for Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Primary Care, Internal Medicine (and more i assume)

2) Why did you choose this specialty and were you a practicing doctor in that field/ or training in the speciality?

3) How was your application process? what did you consider your strengths, how was your interview process, research proposal/choosing a professor etc.

4) How was it!! Did you enjoy it? Are you glad you spent a year there or do you regret it?

5) Whats a typical day/week like there since it seems quite flexible from the purely research based course.

Thank you so much for your help guys! If the answers are too personal, please DM me. I'm very interested in applying and am currently a fifth year medical student intending to train in Paediatrics (and academic medicine).

See if the uni can put you in touch with current or former students. You're asking very specialist questions which you may not get responses to on here.

Hi!

I was just wondering if you ended up applying for the course?

I am interested in the MPhil Psychiatry course but have yet to find a supervisor :/

If you have already applied, how did you manage to get a supervisor on board?

Thanks!
