Yep

It seems the most likely circumstance - who would be Brexit secretary?

It would be post Brexit however, I would like Soubry to be heading the home secretary.

Just take a look at Venezuela - a socialist state...

Soubry is just badass:

Any brexiteer pm will struggle to mend the damage caused to the party by this process. Davis is also generally regarded as very dim by Whitehall and responsible for the **** show that is DExEU. Doesn't mean it won't be him, but he has a bad reputation in the place where the decision is made so he might not make the final 2.

Also Gove. As it always should have been.

The manifesto does not mention that he would abolish it though.
no. It was a comment made by Corbyn after publication. It's not the same as a manifesto commitment but it is an election campaign commitment.

Also this is nothing compared compared to the commitments made in energy. On climate change the labour manifesto showed a woefully poor grasp of the problem, the solution, and the cost.

It was a magazine interview in June that created the issue, although Reyner and McDonnell haven't helped the situation since with the comments they've been making.

"Yes, there is a block of those that currently have a massive debt, and I’m looking at ways that we could reduce that, ameliorate that, lengthen the period of paying it off, or some other means of reducing that debt burden...”

“...And I don’t see why those that had the historical misfortune to be at university during the £9,000 period should be burdened excessively compared to those that went before or those that come after. I will deal with it.”

People vote against the manifesto not comments by individuals in the cabinet.

I'm gonna need you to explain what you mean there.

If you're saying that people don't vote based on what party leaders say in elections then that's a very strange position to put forward
And you idiots vote for labour because of this. Just goes to show, politics is a popularity game, not actually who's best for the country.

And what impact did the Lib Dems have over the Tories in 2010? Nada. So they don't count really.

Not having the influence you want as a junior coalition partner is a given. Despite this, we managed to achieve a number of things in that period such as introducing the worlds first Green Investment bank (later sold to a group that back fracking and coal by the Tories), legislated for same-sex marriage, prohibited the export of chemicals where it's known that they'd be used to carry out death penalties, free school meals to infants and the first three years of primary school and bringing about the triple-lock on pensions. Sure, we could've and perhaps should've improved on some areas, but we weren't lavish lame ducks either.

The cap on tuition fees needs to be lifted. Let the market determine the rate. If you are hard working you will get a well paid job and have no problem paying the debt.

I love it how time and time again, there is a general push to throw away everything that is good in this country and race the US to the bottom

And then the irony is we look to Europe and see how good things like education, health and transport are there and say, "If only we were like Europe..."

The manifesto lists the policies that the party wants to meet by the end of the parliament, If it is not in the manifesto then it was not voted upon. On the same coin, a verbal promise is equivalent to a manifesto promise. I agree with you with respect to your attack on Corbyn and that it fooled many individuals into believing that he would strip off their student debt obligation however, his vagueness upon his stance pre election makes the construct of the argument fundamentally weak.
Every politician will say what people want to hear. It would be a different tune if he ever became PM. I hate that he pretends to be a "politician of the common folk" but he's just like all of the others.
Those stupid gullible unintelligent students who wsted their votes

Venezuela isn't a socialist state. You can only really go so far as to describe it as capitalist country with flawed policies ruined by an undiversified economy and the horrid dutch disease - the latter of which can happen in 'socialist' and 'capitalist' countries alike.

Do you think the market will lend the money? £50k unsecured loan with no income sounds expensive.

The incumbent party is the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, with the Socialist leader of Nicolas Maduro, succeeding the famously-socialist Chavez.

Given Osborne gave the UK it's largest debt increase of any chancellor outside of the world wars he could lecture McDonnell on Keynesian economics...

Are holding opinions frowned upon by your reactionary wing?

No. I'm expressing my disapproval.

Right. How does that refute the fact that Venezuela is a capitalist country? It's akin to saying North Korea is a democratic state because it's officially known as the 'Democratic People's Republic of Korea'.
