Any personal statement needs to focus on the subject you want to study - this should be around 70% of the statement. So if you've read any articles or books, that's a great thing to include - you need to show how it's relevant to your application. If you've studied a related subject previously (eg GCSE/A Level/BTEC) then you might want to mention your favourite topics, and why this has inspired you to want to learn more. You might want to look at the uni module outlines and see if there is anything you're particularly excited to study.
