BA Politics vs. BA Philosophy and Politics

Hi, my questions are as follows:

-Would studying Phil&Pol have a greater focus on Political Theory rather than regular politics?

-Will studying a joint degree hinder my chances of getting into work or a postgraduate course in any way? Would a single degree be preferred?

-Is one degree more widely respected by universities/employers than another or is there nothing in it?

1. It's likely that you'll be studying both disciplines separately so the politics content shouldn't be any different, just less of it because you'll have philosophy modules too. :yes:

2. Not for work it shouldn't. Postgraduate applications may be more inclined towards a single honours student sometimes, but the classification of your UG degree is the most important factor in it all.

3. Generally not.

Doing politics would allow you to pick more political theory/political philosophy modules. Doing philosophy as well would tie you down to some compulsory modules e.g. metaphysics and logic.
