Rise of the bromance threatens heterosexual relationships, warn social scientists

Edit: Sorry, wrong thread
(edited 6 years ago)
Any bromance is a bromance worth fighting for. Worried academics and shove their brophobic arse somewhere else, they aren't welcome in our society 👏
Yass kings
Bros before hoes.
🤣🤣🤣 Quality research right there

Men not wanting to talk to women about problems automatically means the amount of heterosexual relationships going down? 🤣🤣🤣

Survey of 30 undergraduates 🤣🤣🤣
(edited 6 years ago)
Of the 30 men interviewed, 29 said that they had experienced cuddling with a same sex friend, and many said they often slept in the same bed.

W-what? How long did it take them to find these 30 men?
nothing wrong with bromance tho??? if you can't deal with your SO having a good support system then why be in a relationship to begin with?
These people research the life out of everything.
lmao.this is funny.Bromance is a good thing.lol.

Bahahah. I read the first line and laughed and I can't even be bothered to read the rest XDD God, the things people write about these days.
So men are having stable and fulfilling friendships with other men, what a disaster - how dare they be emotionally well adjusted...
Women 10 years ago: "You men need to open up more, emotionally, and be more sensitive!"
Women now: "Men are too emotionally involved with their other male friends and it's potentially ruining the need for heterosexual relationships!"

Be careful what you wish for...
Ask 30 undergraduates and extrapolate for the population. It's like research involving 12 women which concluded all women bisexual, which is why social sciences have such a bad reputation.

It's actually fairly interesting research in a current social area.

Obviously no one actually read the research given the authors explicitly state that the findings are not generalisable.

The F*ckboi Era.
Where doesn't it say the researchers are feminists. They're men for starters. They point out a phenomenon and suggest it could have an impact. Sure the sample is small, though that criticism isn't used to much on TSR, many here don't realize that thr samples size does not need to be huge if the identification an die sampling was good.

Anyway, what they describe is certainly an accurate picture of many on TSR.

Men can't be feminists? So what are you?

The sample size is small for what they are using it for in the article. Perhaps the journalist just misunderstood what the researchers were saying.

There is no agreement whether men can be feminists or just feminist allies. But what I meant was one poster used the term feminazi, something usually said about women, another mentioned "women say...". So I'm just pointing out everyone assumes something about the researchers because of what they found. If that isn't bias in a toon idk what is. And shows people are willing to dismiss something just because they don't like the outcome.
