Is turnover the same thing as sales? also what are good websites to find out the financial data like turnover for companies?

Turnover and sales are the same thing, just two ways to express the total income for a company through core and non-core activities :smile:

Companies are required to publish their accounts for the year so if you have a look on Companies House - a Government website which publish companies accounts, you can search for businesses and have a look at their financial data.

The only catch with Companies House is a lot of accounts (Re smaller companies) will not be full accounts, they will be a balance sheet and notes. Accordingly you need to search for larger companies outwith the small company reporting regime. The other thing is a fair few are pretty poor examples, so if say trying to learn layout , presentation and disclosure, they may mislead.

What are you trying to get from the accounts?

just want the turnover/sale for a few companies for the past few years, just dont really know where to look tbh

If you are talking summary data re quoted companies Hargreaves Lansdown site is not too bad (albeit would not invest without looking at full set, but often they provide a link)
