Do you like reading?

I don't. Think the last book I read cover to cover (not counting secondary school course texts. Those weren't books I wanted to read though) was well probably over 10 years ago now. Although I think there may have been one since.

In primary school I'd plough through books like it was nothing and a friend and I would have competitions to get through Harry Potter the quickest. Back then I read books because I wanted to read them, there was no assessment, nothing. I'd buy books because I had fun reading them (now I just think, why? There's better things to do (like complain about reading 😂))

Try and read a book now, I get so bored that I put it down and never come back or I have trouble with information retention so I read the same thing more than once. Sometimes it feels like my brain is using every bit of brain power it has to read a book/article/paper. My read speed is pretty slow now too.

When I see text that needs reading, I do a lot of skimming or I just skip it entirely since my brain sees it as a wall of text (I often skip news articles to go straight to the comments as that's what I'll be there for).

Doesn't help at uni where there is so much reading. When I see there's a 10 page paper I need to read I die a little inside. Many times when reading things I find myself thinking just get to the point. Now I only read if it's for work purposes or I'm looking up something out of interest, otherwise no reading here. Stopped buying books ages ago since I don't like to read.

EDT: I will read comic books though. I like those

I'm currently reading my first book in 8 years... Yes, I dislike reading that much.

Was never really into books but I want to expand on my vocabulary and it gives me things to talk about to people too.

I just read a couple of pages each night.
I love reading. I love reading so much that I'm studying English Literature at university. I'm currently trying to get my boyfriend into reading. Terry Pratchett is a good author to read if you are getting back into reading. His Discworld series is easy to read and the books are short, as well as funny.
I. Getting more into it now
I love reading. Already on my 16th book for 2018.

I can easily get caught up in a book and read for hours on end.
A life without reading can't exist for myself. I read with passion and joy. It has begun when my mother and grandmother read through a book of fairytales and it goes on with sophisticated novels in differnt languages and non-fiction books.
I love reading and I am studying English Literature with Creative Writing at University. I didn't get to read as many books as i wanted to last year, so it's my goal to read more this year. So far, I am doing better than last year! Reading is a great way to expand vocabulary and what I love about it is the way in which reading a book can transport you into a different world. As for the post above, I have to agree because a life without reading can't exist for myself. Even though I may not read as much, I still read with passion and joy.
It's my favourite hobby. I love reading. I read for hours. I have a very long TBR and growing.
I tend to read more on my kindle now, but I'm collecting the penguin clothbound classics editions.
I love books.
I love reading too, I read all the time and I'm currently re-reading the harry potter series because it is sooooo good

That is right and it is a reason not to stop to read books in life. Okay, sometimes I can't read, if I am too busy, but I have never given reading up completely. I do it by occasion.

reading is the best thing one can ever do!! for real!!
Allow reading, man ain't got time to be flicking pages and living in another fantasy world
I love the escape that reading a fiction novel offers. That feeling when you’re so caught up in a book that you feel like the protagonist
yes

am going to start reading Crime and Punishment tomorrow
there are plenty of life changing books out there one could pick up and read in a couple of hours
think about the time you wasted just this evening alone and what you could have done if you put 15 mins a side twice a week for the last 15 years. think of all the books and biographies one could have read and all the knowledge one could have acquired. but instead we watch harcore pornography and play video games
