UCL accommodation - how far out?

A call to all UCL students! (Particularly those in their 2nd/3rd year).

I have an offer from UCL to study English in September (2018) but I'm worried about accommodation in London. After you move out of halls, approximately how far away from the university do you have to move to get vaguely affordable accommodation? I have heard that students have to move miles out... how do you feel that this has affected your experience at university?

Most live in Holloway/Camden which is about a 25 min walk and is pretty good price wise.
