Oxford vs UCL

I applied for both UCL and Oxford (currently holding an offer from Oxford so far) and cannot decide which one I would prefer to go to (should I receive an offer from UCL). They are both outstanding academically (both as universities and for my course) so the deciding factor for me would be the social life. Could anyone offer any insight into the how the social life between the two differs?

Depends what you want in your social life. Oxford has many more 'communities' ie College, subject, University and so many more perhaps smaller opportunities for socialising, in a medium-sized, not very hip, city. Whereas because of the dispersed accommodation at UCL, the student community is harder to generate, but the options outside UCL/student life in London are clearly enormous.
Please see my post in the thread linked to below. UCL is great, but I suggest that you go to Oxford. I am biased, but I explain my reasoning in my longer post. My comments about Wadham can be applied to all colleges. Not everyone enjoys Oxford, but those of us who enjoyed studying there enjoyed it A LOT.
