The Student Room Group

HMRC Customer Service Consultant 2018/19

So I applied and passed the online tests on the 12th of November 18, went for my interview on the 28th and now I’m just playing the waiting game, I can’t find any threads for this particular vacancy, so just wondering who else is in the same position.. (hoping I’m not the only one that checks my application 3 times a day 😂😂)

I was originally supposed to attend an interview then, but I got into a little car accident 😩😩 to think I would have known by now.

Thank you, you’ll have to let me know how your first few days are!
Oh hope your ok! Thanks I will, I’ve been trying to find out what the training will be like but not had any replies! 🙈

It wasn’t anything big but it made me really late, I found this thread which was kind of helpful

https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5324584&page=3

And someone who got the job there said this-
“You you will do training for 5weeks then consolidation for 4weeks will all be 9 till 5 mond till frid.after that you will get your shift pattern which is 2weeks mond to fri 9-5 . One week 8-4 with a sunday 9 till 5.then one week late shift 12 till 8 working saturday 8 till 4.

Hope that helps!”

If that is of any use to you ... good luck!
That’s brill thank you so much  hope you hear something soon

If personal tax ther traini g was 9 til 5 and you do need to be ok at math they give u a calculator. I liked training but after third week got board like being back at math class at school. You will learn about tax code and lots other stuff you woulf never of thoight you delt with.you learn usinh e learning, handout , group work and online simulations
Oh and one advice i will give you there is a lot to learn and you may feel like you will never get it but honestly you will it some how sticks in your head lol
It’s business tax and customs I wouldn’t say my maths is the best, what els do you do?
