where else have you applied for?

i applied for RCSSD and salford and also bristol old vic and rose bruford. i decided in the end on lipa as my first choice and then royal central as insurance!

I've got an unconditional offer for Creative Technologies and Performance. I'm having a tough time choosing between LIPA and Leeds Beckett (filmmaking course) at the minute.

oh wow, i got an unconditional for Salford but turned it down! LIPA does have a really good reputation compared to Beckett

I did my A-levels last year so I've either got unconditional offers or no offer from the unis I've heard from. What made you turn down Salford?

Yeah, LIPA as a uni has a lot better reputation in the industry but the Creative Technologies course has never run before so it doesn't really have a reputation. The Leeds Beckett course is very well respected though and is meant to be one of the best courses taught at Leeds Beckett, and one of the best filmmaking courses in the North of England. I really love LIPA as a school though, it just feels really friendly and the course seems great but it's harder to know what to expect since it's never ran before.

i turned down salford as i decided their course was virtually new and really not what i wanted to specialise in as such! I would say that in terms of new courses it’s best to just go look around and stuff and ask the serious questions you want to know tbh. I’m from near leeds though so i want to go anywhere but leeds!

Ah right, fair enough. I emailed the course leader at LIPA with my main questions yesterday so hopefully he'll get back to me sometime this week. I went to an interview and an open day at LIPA and they hadn't started building most of the courses facilities so there wasn't really much to look at.

I understand that, my closest city's are Newcastle and Durham and I avoided them like the plague when picking universities

Yeah that’s a good idea i think... always best to ask those who will have the most accurate answers at the time!

Which course is it specifically? is it on the website yet?? i was going to have a look that’s all!

I just think Leeds is a great city but if you’re not from Leeds ahaha

It's the Creative Technologies & Performance BA/MArts course. Apparently they're thinking of renaming it to something like Filmmaking and Emerging Technologies but I don't know how likely that is.

it sounds like a really good course... does it matter if it’s renamed or?

I still think Lipa is a really good school but the leeds universities are really good too... i hope you make the best decision for you!
