Until I looked up, I didn't know what these meant either.

Personally, I don't like high rise, or anything that is too high waisted. So by definition, either mid/standard rise (basically what most people buy) or low rise (which I assume means they're designed to be worn lower).

on men i think mid looks best. on women, i think high rise looks best.

mid to high. Low cut jeans make me wanna throw up - at least wear clean boxers if your gonna wear those please!
