RAF Application Process

Hi all,

I appreciate that there are a number of threads on the application process which I have read.

I just wonder if anyone is able to clarify - I've applied and been invited for the specialist interview - is it right that the AFCO will be in contact with me to advise me on the interview and if there will be any set requirements?

Also, I've yet to have the initial interview - or any contact from the AFCO - can I expect to have the initial interview before the specialist interview?

Any advice on the specialist interview would be appreciated.
Initial first, then specialist.

Good luck soldier.
The AFCO will keep in touch with you through each step. If something comes up, they'll let you now through the portal, that said, not everything is done right away and some delays do happen so you may wish to chase at certain times, it is up to you.

Thanks AW - I thought that might be the case. My AFCO were copied into the email confirming the intention to invite me for the specialist interview. I assumed I may hear off the AFCO in the coming days.

I don't know what role you've applied for but if you're being progressed quickly you may be you're applying to a priority role. Although, if you're not, COVID delays mean some stages could take some time.

I've applied for the Legal Officer role.

I understood that there would be some delay - AFCO's are currently working at 8-10 weeks to process online applications. I just was not expecting to have the specialist interview confirmation before the initial interview, that's all.

Been advised the specialist interview will likely be sometime in November. I was working towards things progressing around January time, given the AFCO delay.

What do you mean by 'set requirements?

Morning Surnia,

Some of the older threads i've been reading suggested that you get provided information as to whether there is to be a presentation, for example.

That will all come from the AFCO.
