How do you assess your interpersonal skills when it comes to meeting new people?

How easy/difficult do you find meeting new people? What factors influence your ability to make new friends?

Quite easy. I'm an introvert but I throw myself out there like an extrovert if I have to make a good impression on someone new.

One factor that may make this difficult is if the person is particularly sour and doesn't like conversation. But if you figure out WHY they're like this, it's easier to determine how to win them over.

I have a natural affinity for being liked, so not only do I find it easy to get along with people, they are actually drawn to me for some reason

That said I find it extremely hard to make real, meaningful friends, I am however friendly with everyone and see them as my 'friends' be it a very broad use of the term

I'm an ambivert, mainly as I spend 99% of my time alone but have no issues with communicating to people, just don't have anyone to communicate with

Did you learn to switch into an extrovert mode or does it come naturally?

I also wonder why this is the case. While at school or university I met a lot of new people but actually found it challenging to move from acquaintances into friends
