Politics Question Help.

So I have been set the question 'How and why has the UK democratic system been criticised?' and I am not to sure were to begin or exactly what to write about, please help.

Try 'the First Past The Post voting system is massively unfair'. And remember ou can challenge the statement by giving points on why it is fair as well.

well you can go on about how some parties have an unfair advantage due to media bias and more finances and that in some areas votes are worth less

These are the common arguments -

Our electoral system largely ignores smaller/minority parties.
The House of Lords is unelected and therefore not truly accountable.
Our constitution is not codified therefore not fully protective of our rights.
Governments may attain power without receiving a majority of the vote.
Scottish MPs may vote on issues regarding England, but English MPs cant vote on issues regarding Scotland (the West Lothian question).

There are more, but surely you have your own notes/books for this stuff? Its kinda basic.
