Anyone had replies for English Literature? I applied 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything, not even acknowledgement of receipt of my application....I know not every university does that but this is the only of my choices that hasn't!

Hey! I've had an offer for English Lit and French- it took them about a month to get back to me but I did get a confirmation of application after about 2 days. You can check here for other English offers: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/English_Offers_2012

Good luck!

haha I'm glad you're interested!! it's like that, but only elderly people speak the dialects now  shame..
I really want to know when interviews will be!! my friend just got a conditional offer from reading for English last week, but she applied before the Oxford deadline. I don't want to wait weeks to know just when interviews are!! gah I'm too impatient :frown: With art isn't it only fair to interview most people, so what are they waiting for?

What a shame about the dialect!
Don't worry, I'm probably the most impatient person in the world - I'm losing my mind waiting! I don't think we should compare ourselves with people applying to other courses because it's an intirely different system for Art - we have portfolio requests, interviews and even the final deadline for sending off your UCAS application is longer than any other course! There are also some universities that wait until January to give any offers/rejections/interviews! We just have to hold tight and wait I guess, as frustrating as it is! I just can't wait to know - especially for Reading!

Got an interview and psycometric test (whatever they are) for accounting and business with pwc. Hopefully it'll all go well
Applied for History, but haven't heard back from them yet, is this a sign?

I have an interview at Reading for Fine Art and English Literature combined on Monday and have absolutely no idea what to expect. Anybody else in this position? I am primarily interested in Art and in a moment of madness decided to spply for this one combined course, how weighted will the interview be toward English?

I am hoping my predicted grades and gcses will give me a bit of a platform to stand on, ( A*A*A*and 11 A*s) but am worried I will just end up messing up at interview.

Also, I have just realised how contemporary and conceptual the art dep. is at Reading. This is something I am hugely interested in, but my portfolio does not show much evidence of, will this be a problem?

Hellooo,
I put Reading as my firm choice last year for Business and Management but I missed my grades by 4 marks & because of the fierce competition last year they wouldn't let me in :frown: I had my heart set on the uni so decided to take a gap year and resit an exam ... hopefully they'll give me an offer and I can go in 2012!
