Interview at Reading on the 27th.. Any tips?

I'm doing maths specialism and have my activity prepared for that but dreading the presentation. I have bad anxiety, especially around my age range. Is there anyone who has been to a Reading interview or similar as a 10 min presentation of a piece of text who could describe the process abit? Such as how many people in the room, are you asked questions, etc etc

Abbie

I've had an interview at Reading, in November (still waiting to hear the result though!) and I'm music spec. Don't worry, there were about 8-10 of us in my group, and everyone was lovely, you get to know them over the course of the day. I have panic disorder so anxiety gets to me too, and I think I might've messed up my reading but just keep as calm as poss, everyone's really supportive. I wasn't asked any questions; just did the reading of my book and said my ideas for how I'd link it to the curriculum  best of luck!

ahh well done! i take it that brighton isnt your firm or insurance then? ahh okay, was the task hard? ahh i see..where else have you applied to? thanks for the help

Hi, no the task was fine, just discussing some sentences in a group and putting them in relevant order;what you all see to be relevant.
I have done all my interviews and stuff, early bird lol. I got into Roehampton,Winchester,Brighton all primary ed and st mary's Education and social sciences. Think I'm going to choose Roehampton. I have also passed my QTS. Did those just after xmas  Finished college in 2006 so I'm all set
I take my hat off to those doing Alevels,QTS and uni interviews all at once lol. Good luck!

I thought it went quite well but obviously not well enough and if I don't get into YSJ that's the plan

Eagerly awaiting the result from Reading....it isn't filling me with confidence though hearing that people from interviews in November still haven't heard back!
Can someone help me ASAP!!!

Dear Adam

BEd (Hons) Primary Education QTS (4 years)

Thank you for your application to study at the University of Winchester. I am pleased to invite you to an interview on 06/Feb/2013. Please arrive at St Edburga Building in good time for a 12:00 start. It is anticipated that you will be free to leave at approximately 16:00.

The University of Winchester requires applicants invited to interview to bring evidence that they have booked to take their Literacy and Numeracy skills tests. These tests should normally be booked to be taken within three months of submitting the applications to UCAS. Further information about the Skills Tests, including how to book, can be found here.

I can't even find the webpage which allows me to book the tests. Could someone link me to book for both tests (Literacy and Numeracy)? Would be grateful because my interview is on Wednesday.

Should have done this earlier, apologies.

Anyone had an interview at Canterbury? Got mine this Wednesday and fair to say I'm not looking forward to it!

https://www2.pearsonvue.com/ You then need to make sure you find your local test centre and you book on to the ENTRY programme test.

hey everyone! I have an interview soon but was wondering if the tests (at the interview) are multiple choice or written?
Also I asked this before but I might buy lunch there as I am coming on the train and don't want to carry too much, will there be places to eat?
Additionally, I am nervous! Mostly about if I forget something about the educational issues.. I will not know what to say XD

It depends which Uni, as at each one they are different. And yes there is always a place to buy lunch

Did you not have to 'lead a discussion'?? I'm really worried about that part of the interview for Reading!

That is what they look at, they make sure you don't keep interrupting people and that you let other people speak. And you don't just sit there saying nothing. There was 5 of us in my group. But we were all polite letting each other speak etc lol. I'm sure it'll be fine! Try not to worry.
Amd with QTS I did online tests but I also brought a QTS book which had tests in which defo helped me as I have been out of school for ages lol.Well 8 years but I feel I needed a reminder
