What counts as Retail Experience?

Hey

Applying for a job and they are asking me if I have any retail experience. My last (and only other) previous job last summer was as a kitchen assistant in this pub, so I don't think that counts, but I help at the traidcraft stall at my local church, selling goods, laying out the goods, assisting in buying new stock etc. Does this count as retail experience? The only options on the job website are yes or no.

I know that maybe it does as its retail, but since it wasn't a proper company, I don't know if I can.

I think the second job you mention would count as retail :smile:

The second is retail.

The employer doesn't give an ill rat's bottom who you worked for, they just want to know that you're capable. They're probably just trying to cancel out the weak candidates, rather than rip into your previous experience.

It's important to sell yourself as a smiley, customer orientated person. That's all. :smile:
