Unconditional to Edinburgh, but no longer sitting final exam?

Hi - sorry, just need some advice on something that's freaking me out a little

I received an unconditional offer to Edinburgh this morning, and was pretty stoked to say the least. However, last week I was informed that I cannot sit my Advanced Higher Chemistry exam in May since I failed the prelim. Despite sending a letter in to state that I still wished to sit the final exam, the curriculum leader said that it was too late and I had missed the deadline for entry (a deadline I wasn't informed of, by the way), and that I was to only do "units only" (in other words, not dropping the subject, but not sitting the final exam either).

Obviously I need to contact the university in order to inform them of this change, since my UCAS application stated that I was expecting a grade. My question is if my unconditional offer is likely to change or not? I'm still sitting both advanced higher English and Biology.

Thanks in advance
