Weekly money allowance? - part catered?

Hey, I've got my accommodation in Becket Court (part catered - breakfast and dinner). Been sitting down and running through costs and how much I'd need per week for living expenses. I know freshers week is going to be expensive (due to various events and nights out) so I'm excluding this week. Would £45 a week be enough? I don't have to buy food for breakfast/ evening meals but I will need enough for lunch, events/nights out, and general items I'll need to buy whilst at University (shampoo, toothpaste, toilet roll etc). Thanks for any help you an give me!
If we say a £2.50 allowance for lunch every day (bear in mind if you buy a £1 loaf of bread you can use it more than once, same for packs of ham etc) and a £20 a week socialising budget and a £5 allowance for cleaning/toiletries (buy in bulk/during offers) you'll be living on a tight, but manageable budget.

2.50 x 7 = £17.50
+ 20 = £27.50
+ 5 = £32.50

So if have £45 per week you should be able to comfortably manage other costs (clothes, bus travel etc) if you stick to the core budget. Basically make a list of the real essentials. And if you see a good offer, e.g. your usual shampoo half price, stock up and be a bit skint for one week because it'll save you in future ones. Also, get your parents to stock you up on food etc when you first move in.
Best thing to remember is if you don't need to spend as much one week then don't spend it! Just because you have a spare tenner doesn't mean you should spend it! Save it for a rainy day. Boring, but good advice!
