Hey there @jimmybonds007 ! In first year I started off with £200 a month for food, drink and laundry. Since food prices have been rising, my allowance has gone up to £250 in second year but that's because I'm still paying for my washing. When I stop doing this in third year, my allowance will go back down to £220 a month. I do sometimes have money left over during the month but I save it for emergency money. I am a cook and I'm really social but I also have a part-time job which contributes towards social things and then I use the allowance from my parents on things like food and toiletries.
Hope this helped! Lucy - Digital Student Ambassador SHU
